Visa, MasterCard and Discover have all announced plans and programs to bring EMV to the US payments ecosystem. While these announcements don’t tell us the exact timing of when EMV cards will be issued domestically or when the various industry players will be ready, we do ultimately know that EMV cards will be issued in the US and merchants will need to start preparing for acceptance.
