It’s been a busy Day 2 at this year’s NRF Big Show, with a big partner announcement about our e355 mobile solution, lots of excitement about our announcement Friday of an agreement to acquire AJB Software Design, Inc., and Jennifer Miles’ Future Proofing panel discussion with executives from Panera Bread and Discount Tire.
Expanding Retail Self-Service Capabilities with Elo
Early this morning, Elo, a global leader in touchscreen solutions, including modern point of sale systems, announced integration of its all-in-one tablet solutions with the Verifone e355, to simplify and reduce the cost of supporting new payment and loyalty methods in self-service and endless aisle retail environments.
As a result, Elo is bringing EMV, NFC, mobile wallet, and loyalty program acceptance to the self-service and endless aisle POS. Elo joins more than 40 Verifone partners participating in NRF this year, all with innovative solutions built around reinventing the payment experience.
Delivering Flexibility and Functionality
That reinvention requires additional simplicity, security, flexibility and functionality in managing payments. And, as Verifone CEO Paul Galant said today, that’s exactly what the announcement to acquire AJB is about. More than 150 North American top tier retailers rely on AJB and its acquisition means Verifone is better able to deliver a remarkable level of flexibility and functionality to AJB’s clients and others who want to take advantage of AJB’s payment gateway and other solutions that already connect more than half a million payment devices from Verifone and other suppliers.
Making Payments Easy for Merchants and Retailers
Offering testimony to how the consumer retail experience will change more in the next few years than it has over the past decade, Verifone North America President Jennifer Miles moderates an afternoon Q&A with executives from Discount Tire and Panera Bread, who discussed how their brands are preparing today to support their visions of tomorrow.
Evan Hunter, Product Manager of Payments and Financing with Discount Tire Company, discussed the company’s 950-store rollout of payment services and products to shield customer card data, implement EMV enterprise-wide, and readily adapt to future payment types like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay throughout their stores.
Today was a lot of fun and there’s more on tap for tomorrow as we continue to meet & greet at the Verifone Booth. Retail’s Big Show has proven to be a forum for game-changing ideas for the industry.
